Mandatory Masks in New Brunswick

As per today's press conference by Dr Jennifer Russell and Premier Blaine Higgs, face masks will be mandatory in most indoor public spaces in New Brunswick effective tonight at midnight.

The NB Department of Justice recently surveilled over 600 locations and found that only 16-36% of residents are currently wearing masks. As a result, this policy now becomes necessary.

Children under 2 as well as those with a valid medical condition will be exempt. This will not be enforced, but we will focus upon influencing one another and will continue to monitor the level of compliance before considering enforcement options.
