There are 25 new cases in the Atlantic Bubble today, 12 in NB, 4 in NFLD, 9 in NS; NS reports 4 recoveries, NB reports 3, NFLD reports 1. Ontario numbers are updated. 2 of the new cases in NB are in zone 3 (Fredericton) and are travel related. There are 3 new cases in zone 1 (Moncton) and 7 in zone 2 (St John). All are under investigation. In NFLD, 3 cases are under investigation and 1 is a close contact of a previous case. All cases in NS are in Central Zone. One new case, identified today, is at Bedford South School, a pre-primary to grade 4 school in Central Zone. Bedford South School will be closed for cleaning and contact tracing until at least Wednesday, Dec. 2 (inclusive) at which time more information will be communicated to families. Students will be supported to learn at home. There were 1,142 tests administered at the rapid-testing pop-up site in downtown Halifax yesterday and 4 positive results. The individuals were directed to self-isolate and have been referred for a standard test. This means there are 2 active cases in PEI, 119 in NS, 114 in NB and 31 in NFLD. In NS, 53/65 (82%) NS deaths are from Northwood and 57/65 (88%) are from long term care in general (11 different facilities have reported cases, none have an active case). Yesterday, 3109 tests were completed with 9 new cases reported.

Today, Nov. 27, ongoing voluntary testing is being introduced to monitor, reduce and prevent the spread of COVID-19 in long-term care. Volunteers, designated caregivers and employees who provide direct care to residents will be tested every two weeks. The ongoing testing will start at three long-term care locations: Northwood, Ocean View and St. Vincent’s and will expand to six more facilities over the next two weeks.

Premier McNeil states to not allow rumours to distort fact and be weary of social media posts regarding cases that may not exist. He is also concerned that this is typically a shopping heavy weekend, but it can't be this year. Buy local and/or buy online.

October 1 is being declared the start of the 2nd wave in NS.

Public Health has over 1000 open investigations regarding contact tracing based on existing cases.

COVID-19 has been found in wastewater in Wolfville by Acadia researchers. Could be a sign COVID-19 is now in that community. As a result, testing capacity has been increased in the area.

Testing strategy has been updated since we know social activities are easy for the virus to spread, so we want to pro-actively test those that are asymptomatic, and test a lot of them. So far, nearly 8000 people have come forward from the bar industry and their patrons. This also includes anyone who was at an exposure site during the specified date and time. You do now need to self-isolate if you fit the criteria, whilst you are waiting for a test.

Federal Government anticipates vaccine to begin rollout in Canada in early 2021. It will be small amounts as early as January and then it will ramp up from there. The supply will be controlled and prioritization will be in place based on the national advisory committee on immunization.

Dr Strang states there are currently NO MORE plans for any further restriction at this time, but of course that can change as the situation changes.

The province of NS is renewing the state of emergency to protect the health and safety of Nova Scotians and ensure safety measures and other important actions can continue. The order will take effect at noon Sunday, Nov. 29 and extend to noon Sunday, Dec. 13, unless government terminates or extends it.
