There are 3 new cases in the Atlantic Bubble today, all in NB; NB also reports 1 recovery. The new cases are not related to the outbreak at the care home in Moncton, reported yesterday. An individual aged 40-49 in zone 2 (St John), travel related, an individual aged 20-29, zone 3 (Fredericton), also travel related and an individual aged 30-39 zone 5 (Campbellton) is under investigation. This means there are 3 active cases in PEI, 3 in NS, 24 in NB and 4 in NFLD, none known to be related to the Atlantic Bubble itself. In NS, 53/65 (82%) NS deaths are from Northwood and 57/65 (88%) are from long term care in general (11 different facilities have reported cases, none have an active case). Yesterday, 879 tests were completed with 0 new cases reported.

Effective midnight tonight, masks will be mandatory in most indoor public spaces in NB, similar to NS. The Dept of Justice recently surveilled over 600 locations and found that only 16-36% of residents are currently wearing masks. Children under 2 as well as those with a valid medical condition will be exempt. Also, visitors will not be allowed at adult care homes in Moncton until further notice.
Starting today, travelers will no longer be screened entering NB from NS or PEI.
Today, the federal COVID-Alert app is now available in PEI.
